Farmers’ Markets Near Toms River

Summer and fall in Toms River means it is Farmers’ Market season for local residents interested in homegrown fruits and vegetables and organic food for their family.

From May through October, there are quite a few Farmers’ Markets near Toms River including the Toms River Farmers Market held each Wednesday downtown.

Toms River Farmers’ Market

Location: South Corner Irons & West Water Street

Hours: Wednesdays 11 AM to 5 PM

Dates: May 25th – November 16th

The Toms River Farmers’ Market features FREE parking and dozens of local farmers and vendors selling fruits, vegetables and other assorted foods such as pasta, honey, lemonade and delicious baked goods.

Other items for sale include handmade soaps, house plants and crafts.

Visitors can enjoy a lunch area featuring tends for shade and warm food cooked on-site including hot dogs, hamburgers and fresh cut fries.

Route 9 Farmers’ Market Freehold

Location: 3681 US 9, Freehold

Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Sunday

Unlike most local markets, the Route 9 Farmers’ Market is open year round with large crowds un the weekends.

You can purchase deli meats, sandwiches, fine cheeses and flowers. The Freehold Farmers’ Market on Route 9 features daily specials on fruits and vegetables with specials up to 80% off regular price.

Downtown Freehold Farmers’ Market

Location: 10 East Main St.

Hours: Fridays 11 AM – 3 PM

Dates: July – October

The second of the two Freehold Farmers’ Markets, this location features more fresh produce and baked goods from local vendors.

The downtown market is an open-air shopping center just in front of the Hall of Records.

Brick Farmers’ Market

Location:  Windward Beach Park, 265 Princeton Ave

Hours: Saturdays 9 AM – 12 PM

Dates: May – October

The Brick Farmers’ Market is one of the largest near Toms River, NJ and features over 35 local vendors, including the Thompson Brothers, Krakus Deli, Cream Ridge Winery and Bang Cookies.

The Lakehurst Farmers’ Market in Manchester is one of the newer farmers’ markets near Toms River and includes a unique variety of produce as well as weekly classes on gardening, cooking, baking and more!

It is small with only 8-10 vendors per week but the size is part of the appeal as vendors have time to converse and answer questions about their goods and businesses.
